Veritas Preparatory Academy is committed to offering an extraordinary classical education in the tradition of the finest private schools. The essentials of excellence, however, would be impossible without the partnership of our families through our two annual fundraising campaigns.
What is the difference between the Community Investment campaign and the Tax Credit drive?
Our Community Investment campaign goes to our core classroom funding to allow for small class sizes, lower class loads for our teachers (which gives them time for more tutoring and instructional preparation), and it helps us to hire, reward, and retain the very best faculty for your students. The contributions raised during the Tax Credit drive support extra-curricular programs like athletics and clubs.
Why does Veritas need our support for those things?
As a public charter school, Veritas is a tuition-free prep school with the freedom to deliver the type of education you want for your child. The big trade-off for this freedom is that charter schools receive 20% less funding per-student than district schools, and we must pay for our own facilities on top of that. Even with this inequity, and the budget cuts from the state that have impacted districts and charters alike, we spend about $1,500 more per-student than we receive from the state to support the essentials mentioned above.
