A founding board member of Veritas, Mr. Mulhern has a 25-year career in real estate, including stints with CBRE, Ryan, and Reliance Companies. He is currently Managing Director-Greater Phoenix for Colliers International. He and his wife Tina are the parents of four Veritas graduates and two currently enrolled students. Mr. Mulhern is also a founding board member and Treasurer of Great Hearts Academies.
Mrs. Karen Rogers, Treasurer
Mrs. Rogers has a 15-year career in both corporate and not-for-profit accounting. She and her husband Mark are the proud parents of a Veritas high school student.
Mr. Jay Heiler
A founding board member of Veritas, Mr. Heiler is a public affairs consultant, and was formerly a journalist, an attorney in the state AGs office, and Chief of Staff to the Governor of Arizona. He and his wife Carol currently have three students enrolled at Veritas and are the parents of two graduate. Mr. Heiler is also a founding board member and President of Great Hearts Academies.
Dr. Daniel Scoggin, Vice President
Dr. Daniel Scoggin is the CEO of Great Hearts Academies, the parent charter management organization of Veritas Prep. He has been directly involved in the establishment of eight liberal arts schools and counting. Prior to helping establish Great Hearts, Dr. Scoggin was the headmaster of Tempe Preparatory Academy for six years and a Humane Letters teacher and basketball coach. He holds his Ph.D. in English Literature from Claremont Graduate University and his B.A. from Santa Clara University.
Mr. Herbert Abel
Mr. Abel and his wife Leanne are the parents of three current Veritas students. A native of Germany, Mr. Abel has more than two decades of entrepreneurial experience starting, managing, and rapidly developing successful businesses in the fields of renewable energy and wireless technology. He is the founder and current CEO of Scottsdale, Arizona-based Green Choice Solar LLC. Mr. Abel holds a MBA from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh.
Ms. Shannon Clancy
Ms. Clancy has been committed to supporting the work of non-profit organizations for twenty years. She is the Director of Development at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Phoenix. She has a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a M.A. from the University of Maryland at College Park. Ms. Clancy is the parent of four children including one at Archway Veritas and looks forward to having children at Veritas Prep in the near future.
